There is no limit to visual thinking! This has been proven by our ongoing collaboration with Chegg. So far we’ve created over 50 videos, and these have have been viewed over three million times! From chromosomal mutations to projectile motion problems, our team has used their storytelling and visual thinking tools to make even the most abstract science engaging and memorable for students.

The brief

Chegg supports students to study better, learn more in less time and achieve better grades. This takes a wide range of tools and solutions, but when it comes to challenging and hard-to-grasp topics, like those found in science, nothing beats an explainer video. Chegg asked us to make a cohesive series of explainer videos that made complex topics and ideas understandable while remaining consistent throughout.

The animation

Working with Chegg, we have produced an extensive range of educational films for Chegg, spanning AI, physics and biology to provide comprehensive coverage of scientific and complex concepts. Each explainer video is crafted to break down complex topics into understandable segments, utilising clear explanations and engaging visuals. This ensures that learners at all levels can grasp and retain the material effectively, making our collection a vital resource for anyone seeking a deeper understanding of science. 

We developed a consistent structure to enable learning, ensuring that students know what to expect from each film. This predictability helps learners focus on the content without being distracted by varying formats. Additionally, we’ve honed a fun illustrative style that remains consistent across all films, providing a cohesive visual experience that enhances understanding and retention. 

By injecting humour throughout our films, we were able to make our explainer videos relatable and enjoyable. For instance, we used playful analogies and witty commentary to explain complex concepts, making them more relatable and easier to grasp. Our use of the orange and grey colour scheme adds to the visual appeal, creating a vibrant yet professional look that is both modern and memorable. 

Overall, our films combine a structured approach with a consistent and enjoyable visual style, enhanced by humor and thoughtful design choices. This makes them not only educational but also entertaining, ensuring that students stay engaged and motivated throughout their learning journey.
