Clean Up Gambling
Gambling Regulation Review
Our current gambling regulations are not fit for purpose, more suited to analogue rather than digital gambling. Clean Up Gambling came to us, to create an animation explaining why a review of gambling regulations is so essential.
The Scrapbook
The challenge
When creating our whiteboard animation for Clean Up Gambling, it was crucial that we created a film that in a short amount of time was able to communicate the need to review gambling regulations. We had to focus on key areas, delivering a strong call to action in the animation’s conclusion. We also had to make important considerations regarding tone and brand guidelines.
The film
To explain the current problems with the legislation and the changes that need to be made, we used clear and communicative visual language alongside a serious voiceover. This took the form of focused and easy to follow framing, well known icons like gavels and poker chips, on screen text and visual metaphors such as cash being swept under a tropical island’s beach. The use of well known visual language and references allowed us to emphasize key points and increased the ways we connected with viewers. The call to action within the animation’s conclusion was highlighted as the camera panned out to reveal the big picture and key information. The combination of these tools was a short but powerful animation, which delivered important information and gave further steps.
