Quintillion
Transforming Lives
The Scrapbook
From the pressures of exams and an uncertain career market to judgments made via social media, teenagers today have a lot to manage. Quintillion have created the Q app to help teenagers navigate this difficult time and reach their full potential!
The challenge
The role of this whiteboard animation was to introduce the Q app to senior teaching staff, explaining how it worked and the benefits it provides. It was essential that we created a whiteboard animation that made viewers curious and interested enough to find out more. To do this, we had to use an illustration and animation style which fully expanded information and key points, emphasising the human aspect of what the Q app allows while satisfying potential concerns viewers may have.
The film
Over a two minute animation, we used a professional voiceover, clear communicative visual language and well-paced animation to present the Q app. Opening on a child, we used a series of icons to illustrate the issues affecting young people, such as rosettes to indicate success and a figure with a brief case walking towards a question mark to reflect an uncertain career mark. Across the animation we used visual thinking to add charm, aid relatability and increase relevance. The inclusion of a microphone did this by creatively interpreting the voiceover while reflecting the culture young people are growing up in. An essential part of this whiteboard animation was the explanation of how the app worked, alongside it’s safety and security features. The explanation involved making important and complex information clear and played to a major strength of whiteboard animation. Onscreen text and icons reinforced the voiceover as it established key points about the app and its functionality. Across the film, we made the young person central to the way the app’s design, confirming the human element of how it works of and its purpose. Overall, the film delivered an in-depth overview, using charming and clear illustration to inform the viewer and stir their curiosity.
