About the author
Professor Damian Hughes AKA 'The LiquidThinker' is the best-selling author of Liquid Thinking, Liquid Leadership, How to Change Absolutely Anything, How to Think Like Sir Alex Ferguson and The Five STEPS to a Winning Mindset in addition to three acclaimed sports biographies.
Damian Hughes is also a key note speaker who combines his practical and academic background within sport, organisation and change psychology to work as a trusted adviser to the business, education and sporting elite, specialising in the creation of high performing cultures.
The challenge
We were asked to visualise Damian Hughes’ latest book, The Barcelona Way, into explainer videos that would be engaging and shareable on social media. To bring the book to life and make it instantly appealing to a wide audience, we used a comic book style. After building the technical foundations for this, we created two films in different styles to embody Damian’s message in an engaging way.
The films
While reflecting Damian’s vision, our illustrations also had to stay true to Barcelona FC’s players and managers. We researched Barcelona FC extensively and drew on a range of animation influences to create bespoke films which turn Damian’s words into a flowing visual.
Our films show how a strong culture has empowered Barcelona FC to achieve great success and revolutionise football. Damian Hughes reveals the key principles that have defined FC Barcelona’s success, and shows how the DNA of a winning team can be successfully applied to any working environment, with dramatic results.
